Overbook is a rapidly developing neighbourhood located in the east end of Ottawa. It is located across the Rideau River, from the neighbourhoods of Lower Town and Sandy Hill, just to the south of Vanier, Rockcliffe Park, and New Edinburgh. To the east, you can find the suburb of Gloucester.

What To Do In Overbrook

Small-scale businesses line Donald Street on the neighbourhood's northern area. While the neighbourhood is quiet and residential, it is situated conveniently to St. Laurent Shopping Centre with anchors including Sears and The Bay, along with Bath and Body Works, Guess, SportChek, and many others. Nearby, you can also find The Ottawa Trainyards featuring WalMart, Marshall's, Bed Bath and Beyond, and The Athletic Club. Even more shopping is available on both Montreal Road and Beechwood Avenue.


If you're looking for great Italian food, there is no shortage here in Overbrook. Louis' Restaurant and Pizzeria and Pizzaro's are two excellent, family-friendly restaurants centrally located in the neighbourhood.

The Overbrook Community Association has been in existence for over 30 years. The organization places a strong emphasis on safety, development planning, transportation, greenspace preservation, among others. 

 

Overbrook Transportation

Residents of Overbrook have easy access to transportation via OC Transpo routes 12, 14, and 18, in addition to the St. Laurent Transit Station being a short distance away. Head to downtown in 10 minutes by bus. If driving, both the Vanier Parkway and Highway 417 are within reach. Need to get to the airport? The Ottawa International Airport (YOW) is approximately a 30 minute drive away.
